Warning: Dates in Calendar are closer than they appear. ~Author Unknown
So...here it is, another birthday. This one just crept up on me so quickly. "They" were right...life is short. And, so, I have some favourite quotes on life that come to mind today...
There is no cure for birth and death save to enjoy the interval. ~George Santayana
For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way. Something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. ~Fr. Alfred D'Souza
You may delay, but time will not. ~Benjamin Franklin
When your life flashes before your eyes, make sure you've got plenty to watch. ~Author unknown
Use your health, even to the point of wearing it out. That is what it is for. Spend all you have before you die; do not outlive yourself. ~George Bernard Shaw
Whether it's the best of times or the worst of times, it's the only time we've got. ~Art Buchwald
I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I lived just the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well. ~Diane Ackerman
Why be saddled with this thing called life expectancy? Of what relevance to an individual is such a statistic? Am I to concern myself with an allotment of days I never had and was never promised? Must I check off each day of my life as if I am subtracting from this imaginary hoard? No, on the contrary, I will add each day of my life to my treasure of days lived. And with each day, my treasure will grow, not diminish. ~Robert Brault
How did it get so late so soon?
It's night before it's afternoon.
December is here before it's June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?
~Dr. Seuss
And, lastly, two of my favourite quotes from Henry VIII in the Tudors:
"Of all loses, time is the most irrecuperable, for it can never be redeemed."
"Man appears on earth for a little while, but of what went before this life, and what will follow, we know nothing."
And, so with those thoughts in mind, I always remember my father's favourite saying and his way of living life "CARPE DIEM!"
Of course, I must carry on the Birthday Tradition of my picture. So here's #47...

And, that was with the same outfit I take my yearly picture in (again, I never considered wearing it each year at the time...but it became a tradition!). So now here I am, with my boy, before going out for an early, casual dinner. Tony wanted to take me down to Laguna Beach for a nice dinner, but I really just felt like taking it easy and just wanted to do California Pizza Kitchen.

Okay, so enough of me for another year! And, really, I only have two more years left of this yearly tradition. I wanted to capture a decade 40-49. The big 5-0 is a whole other thing entirely!!
